Our mission is to unite all UCSC students potentially interested in pursuing the field of Optometry and to provide the necessary support for these individuals. If you are interested in learning about how to apply to Optometry School, meet with admissions representatives from various optometry schools in the state and country, participate in various volunteering events serving the local community or meeting Optometrists around the Santa Cruz County area - then the iSee Pre-Optometry is just for you!

What is Glaucoma?
 
Glaucoma is a disease of the eye in which damage to the optic nerve may cause eyesight loss. Glaucoma is the 2nd leading cause of blindness with no way to prevent it from occuring. Although, it can be diagnosed and treated at an early stage. Glaucoma usually occurs in individuals age 60 and over, and may occur in people over 40. There are different types of Glaucoma that can occur. Please click "more" to learn about some of the different types of Glaucoma and how to treat this eye disease. 
 
 
 
Events

Illinois College of Optometry Presentation

Interested in applying to Optometry school in Chicago? Admissions Representative, Melissa Cook, will be visiting UCSC to give a short presentation for prospective applicants. If you will be attending the event, we recommend preparing any questions you may have beforehand. Please keep in mind we all are representing the UCSC Pre-Optometry Club so we recommend dressing appropriately, does not have to be formal.

Pacific College of Optometry Presentation

Pacific College of Optometry is an optometry school located in Forest Grove, Oregon. PCO will be sending a representative to speak to our club about their program and will be available to answer any questions you may have regarding the school. We look forward to seeing you all there.  

iPC at OPERS Fall Festival

Welcome to the new academic year! iPC was tabling this year at OPERS Fall Festival and had a wonderful out-turn of sign-ups! This year we look forward to learning more about the practice of optometry in general, how to apply to optometry school, what our club does and officer applications! Here's to a great 2017-2018!

Salus University Presentation

Pennsylvania College of Optometry representative Lawrence Walsh will be visiting our pre-optometry club! He will be engaging us in a 45-minute interactive presentation on PCO's admission process, academics, student life and more! Be sure to have questions ready and as always, dress appropriately because you will be representing iPC!
